You want me to Strut Your Stuff?

Logan and Sylvester-PrinceLogan's Name Page

These are some layouts that a gal emailed me using some of my overlays and the Alpha Tiles.  She chose to use the Alpha Tiles to make a Scrapbook layout instead of doing the picture frame.  But it just shows you, the ways to use them are limitless!  If you are looking for a great personalized gift, check them out!  Thanks for sending me these great pics and for letting me show them off!

Proverbs 31, still going....are you still with me?

We are getting to the last few verses in Proverbs and today we are focusing on verse 27. But because it has been a while since we looked at the whole chapter, I am putting it here again. This is a great look at a great woman!

Proverbs 31: 10-31
10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still dark;she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considers a field and buys it;out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

So lets look at verse 27 a little more closely. "She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." Any one else feeling just a tad guilty? I know that there are times that I do a fair job at keeping track of things around the house, but lately, not so good. I think (out of necessity) when my kids were all at home, that I did a better job. But now, that it is just me and my hubby, I know that I have gotten slack in making sure things were taken care of. OK, I am getting it! I confess and will try to, I mean I WILL DO better in this area. Now the cause of this lack of keeping watch, well its found in the second part of this verse. The Virtuous Woman, does NOT eat the bread of idleness! Well that's one bakery I need to stay away from! You see, when I get lazy, that's when I neglect the things that God has intrusted to me. I don't know if its because I am getting older, but I was just telling a friend this morning, that "My get up and go, has got up and went!". Can any of you relate? I just don't want to go all the time like I used to! Well that's no excuse to become lazy. And we can be very active women, and still be "spiritually lazy". I think this scripture could be talking about both. For sure, the physical, but as women, mothers, wives, sisters etc. we are also not to be spiritually lazy in praying for our loved ones, being a role model for others. I desire so much to be a great witness for the Lord to those whom I love dearly. And for me, and maybe others, these are the hardest for me to seemingly reach. Maybe because they see me at my worst? Well that is an area that I want to work on, leaving a legacy to those I love.......Well, I need to get a move on here.....so until I blog again....Blessings and Grace, Teri

Who Doesn't Want to be in God's Presence?

Preview LegacyOfLove

I made this beautiful QP from LBCreations-Designs by Babette's great new kit "God's Presence. You can get the information on this kit at her blog at http://lbcreations.blogspot.com/ or click on the preview of the kit to go directly to the store. When I saw this, I knew immediately that I wanted to do a layout with these lovely ladies who had an enormous impact on my life. They each one helped to shape me into who I am today. My mom, is on the far right, and she was my hero. She lived life to the fullest and died, full of grace. My husbands grandmother is the one with the flowers ( my true inspiration for this layout ) and she was a strong woman, who knew what she wanted in life and got it. She was wise with business and bold in her beliefs. Grandma Mayo knew how to get what she wanted done. A real hard worker, loved gardening and we now live in her house. My husbands other grandmother is in the lilac. Now, she was a one of a kind lady. You talk about loving life! Nana did! She was game for anything and just lived everyday to its fullest potential. And last, is my grandmother on my mom's side in the small photo on the left. Jenny (she didn't want us to call her Grandmother...ha ha) was a woman full of grace and dignity. Had a keen fashion sense, and always presented herself in the best light. I spent many summers with her and loved every minute. I remember going to sleep at night with Johnny Carson on the TV and waking up to the black and white "noise" once the station had gone off air! She was a great grandmother... I hope you can use this to make a legacy QP of your own, but it can be used for so many things. This kit is HUGE so if you want a lot of "bang for your buck" go take a look at Babette's kit. I love the Christian themed papers and great elements too. Be sure to thank her for letting me share this QP with you. You know, these designers don't always let others use their kits to make QP for free, so please let her know you appreciate that. And then go buy this great kit and make some fantastic layouts on your own. These papers would make great cards too! Have a blessed day! Grace and Blessings for today, Teri

"Teri" fic Tuesday Freebie

Preview BonnieviewBuckaroos2007 _web

I got a good one for all you "Hunting Widows" ( you know if you are one!) out there, or just a great page for any man themed photos you have. I know it doesn't have to be masculine , but sometimes it is hard to get a layout that isn't too feminine for those "Manly Things". I added the buck extraction to the layout for my hubby and I am pleased with how it turned out. I have not done too many extractions, but you know, practice makes perfect! These are some of our deer we have on one of our ranches. I love to photograph them and so you will no doubt, see more of them as hunting season begins. We "shoot" more with our camera that anything else! How can we shoot them when we have actually watched them grow up and even named a few! LOL Like the one on the right, his name is Half-ear! We did get to watch two of the bucks fighting last year and I am so glad I had my camera ready! They fought for about 5 min. which is a very long time for bucks to fight. Any way, I love Dorothy's Spiced Leather Kit available from Pretty Scrappy.Click on her preview to go to Pretty Scrappy. Enjoy and have a Teri-fic Tuesday!

***As a favor to me would you please continue to pray for those who were affected by hurricane Ike? If you go to Pretty Scrappy, you will be able to read a very heartfelt post from Casey. My heart and prayers are with them all....Teri

Opps! Sorry I left off the scripture for the Month of May

I have corrected the link for the May 2009 Calendar.  I went back and added the scripture to the .psd file.  I am sorry for those of you who have already downloaded it,  You can re-download it to get the one with the scripture, or it is actually available as a freebie in my word art archives.  :) Teri

Here is another addition to my 2009 Calendar.  I personally used Jessica Edwards "Bye, Bye, Birdie" kit to decorate mine.  Her kit is available at Digital Paper Hearts  at  http://www.digitalpaperhearts.com/ .  For my calendar, you will get the .psd file and you can add what ever papers and elements you want.  I have used my favorite scripture on this month.  Maybe because of being spared by hurricane Ike, but I am grateful to know that I can trust in Him, because my times are in his hands.   Speaking of my hands..........There are gonna be busier these days. I have taken on a couple more designers who have asked me to be on thier Creative Teams.  Be sure to go to my side bar and check out their stores.  I really enjoy this side of creating so it works out great for me, and all have agreed to let me put freebies on my blog so it will work out great for you too!   Some of the QP's that I created for them may only be available for a few days on my blog, so if I post one that has that stipulation on it I will let you know, but just giving you a heads up that if I say, "limited time only" grab it while you can!  Its a "Happy Day" for me because I am going to my grandson's 4th birthday party.  So take care and have a great day!  Baskets of  blessings, Teri

What Did You Say?

Well I guess with all the hurricane readiness, I neglected posting more of this Proverbs 31 lady. I love verse 26 "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." You know the older I get, the more I have to bit my tongue. Not so much because what I am going to say is so bad, its that I really want to guard my words with wisdom. Now, I am not always successful. But, I guess it is a natural result of wanting to grow in Christ. For this lady, it was just natural it seems. She just spoke with wisdom. How can I get to that place? Practice! Practice you say? How does that work? Well the more we practice, walking with the Lord, listening to Him and his guidance, seeking to speak with wisdom, the better we will get at it. And to give faithful instruction. Now there is a challenge. Too often, I want to give 'Teri's advice" (which is not always Godly, to say the least) I mean I may give worldly advice to my kids, without really thinking about what Christ would have me say to them. You see I think, as a mother, I know what's best, AND WANT WHATS BEST, for them, too often, without regard for Christ. And I may speak as a mother (nothing wrong with being a mom! You know what I am saying here, right?) and not a faithful servant of Christ. I bet if you think about what you say, you may find that you too, are like me. Wanting to say the right thing, but often failing. Well I have great news! We are pleasing to the Lord when we seek Him and desire to grow in Him. So, keep strolling down that narrow path, and as you do, you too, will find yourself more and more like this Proverbs 31 gal! Enjoy the weekend! His, Teri

I'm Not Scared!

I have been fretting the last few days, as you well know, with the storm Ike threatening to come ashore close to us.  Well it looks like we were spared, but please continue your prayers for those that are going to be hit by this hurricane.  I couldn't help but think of the title..I'm not scared" but I did have a few restless nights.  I have been working with a kit by Jessica Edwards at Digital Paper Hearts named "Trick or Treat".  It is a cute kit and very versatile.  I made these two layouts and she has agreed to let me put them on my blog as freebies.  Please go over to http://www.digitalpaperhearts.com/ to see her things.  Be sure to leave a nice comment thanking her for letting me offer these freebies!

Woof! Woof! And "Top Ten Reasons" Hurricane Season is Like Christmas

 Woof_preview Woof_Hitch

I told you to be on the lookout for Meow's buddy Woof!  And I won't disappoint!  HeHe...I used an overlay on the one of my awesome dog, Hitch.  And I changed the bevels, but on the overlay for download it is the basic one that I have always done.   I was able to mess a little on my computer today.  It looks like that Ike will go north of us, but I can't imagine the headaches around the Houston, Galveston area.  Pray for them.  I am hoping to work on a few more goodies this weekend if we are able to keep our electricity.  I am ( I was gonna say "pooped" but changed my mind!  LOL) tired tonight so, it wont be a long post.  But for those who might be effected by Ike, I leave you with this email I got and found it to be humorous.

Top Ten Reasons Hurricane Season is Like Christmas

10. Decorating the house (boarding up windows).
9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season (camping
gear, flashlights).
8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores.
7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".
6. Family coming to stay with you.
5. Family and friends from out-of-state calling.
4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities.
3. Days off from work.
2. Candles.and . . . .
1. And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas . . ....
At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house!

EEK! IKE!

Well we are about 30 miles from where they are predicting Hurricane Ike to hit on the gulf coast. We are in the process of boarding up, gathering water, food and flashlights.  Please pray for us and for all of those that are in the path of this Category 3 hurricane.  The last cat 3 hurricane to hit here was Celia, back in the 70's and it devastated many areas!  We should be safe here, our house was built to withstand this type of weather ( it is my husbands, grandmothers house)  It is cement, and I feel safe staying here.  We just have a lot farm equipment and all that we can not go off a leave.  Unfortunately, looters take there toll, as i am sure you have seen after Katrina.  So, keep us in your prayers, and pray that we don't loose our electricity for too long!  I will try to keep you guys updated, maybe even post a freebie or two to keep me busy till it hits!  But right now, we have to prepare.  His, Teri

*** Update***  they are saying that Ike should go in somewhere to the north of us now, as a Category 4 which is a HUGE hurricane.  Although I am happy we may be spared the brunt of the storm, we are by no means out of danger, but we need to pray for those who will be in the hardest hit areas, no matter where Ike comes ashore.  We are almost finished boarding up ( we have like 66 windows! ) and have been to the store and have all of our things necessary for loss of electricity.   But its dark and kinda errie!  I will keep you posted on the latest news.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

So here is a little something for you to enjoy in the mean time!   Just click on the preview!  Keep your eyes out for the "woof"  its coming!

***available at Pretty Scrappy***click to go to the store***

Well after several email requests, I have decided to make the Alphabet Tiles for you to use in these layouts. They are in .png format and can be placed in any order in your layout making these very versatile. They are designed to fit a 12 x 5 layout for a finished frame approximately 14x 7. You may purchase the "Alpha Tiles" for $15.00 for the set including 2 sizes of spacers (for the sides) and the Star and Heart to complete your layouts. Just shoot me an email and I will send you a paypal invoice and then, when the payment is received, I will email you the zipped file which includes instructions as to how to use the tiles. Remember this is for the alphabet only and the frame is from Scrappy Shannon's and can be found at http://www.scrappyshannonsblogspot.com/. I made this preview with the "tiles" to show you that they fit together "seamlessly" . Hope you can use these. His, Teri

Here is another darling kit by Jaydensmamas Designs.  It is called Breezy Boy.   You can find her kit at http://scraphead.com/shop/  If you want the QP just click on the preview to download it.  Be sure to go check out the rest of this cute kit and all the other great things she has to offer.

Shedding Some Light

I have had several emails as to how to use the overlays that I offer.  In the older ones there was an instruction sheet along with my TOU.  Now that I have changed my TOU it is no longer included.  So I will make this post, that way it will be available in my archives.  I am also going to try to just make more of them in the .png to simplify things whenever possible.  So, number one you need to have a program that accepts either .png or .psd files and works in layers.  If it is a .png file, then all you have to do is open the file and put your photo in a layer under the .png file and adjust to fit!    Its that simple.  Now if you are using a .psd file, then you open the file, and put your photo above the layer with the black lettering, (the square box with the letters attached) and then you merge it onto the layer below by hitting "ctrl G" then you merge down.  It is creating a clipping mask.  You are in essence, making your photo take the place of (merging) the black letterbox.  It takes on the attributes of that layer.  Hope this clears up some of the confusion.  Enjoy, Teri

OK, OK, I WILL DO IT !!!!!

Nate_Framed

I have had several name request for the new frames that I am making. If you want a specific name, you can email me the name or names you want, and for $1.50 per name I will make you a personalized name frame template. This is for the template only, no frame. I would suggest you try one of my freebies, make sure you like my work before you ask me to make your special name. The money would be non-refundable, so I just want everyone happy! I have not been interested in selling my things, but I would be willing to make you a special name for these darling "name frame" layouts. I will also let you know if it is not a name that will work with what I am doing. I don't think long names will look good, because the letters will be too small to put a picture in. 7 or 8 letters would be the max, to me. I prefer 5 to 7 letters to look the best. However, a short name could be preceded by a heart or something like that or at the end, or both ends to make more places for pictures. If you wanted to use a short name only, you could always scrap around it to add interest, but that is up to you. I will do 3 letter names if that is what you want, just understand that there will be a lot of blank space around your name. These would also be great to put the last name of a family on if that is what you want!

SS_Frame4TeriTemplates_web

If you want this darling frame to put on your layouts to use on your computer, my friend Shannon over at Scrappy Shannons made this especially for me to go along with my name frames. All you gotta do is go over to her blog to snag it! http://scrappyshannon.blogspot.com/ Be sure to tell her thanks for taking her time to make this for me! It looks great if you are gonna show off your layout on your computer! A big thanks Shannon, for all the help, the countless questions you have answered for me and the encouragement you have given me. Hugs...

This is a no pressure deal for me, I will make them if you want, but if there are no takers on the names, that is ok too! If I make a name for you, and later that name happens to be offered for free, it is unintentional. An example, like HUNTER, or FAITH. I will not say I may never make those names for my blog readers, but if I make them at your request, then I will expect to get paid. Sounds fair, right? I for sure don't want you mad at me for making a name available that you once paid for. You are paying for the convenience of having the name you want, when you want it. If you are interested in several names, it is to your advantage to give me those names at one time to ensure that you will get them all at the same time. The names all have a beveled look to them so they really look nice when printed. From a distance, they look like they are really cut out of a mat. I will try it like this with the understanding that if it doesn't work out, then I will have to withdraw my offer to make personalized name frames. They will be in .png format only and are for personal use only.

I Just Saved You A Bunch Of Money.....

I wanted  to try to make a name frame for my grandson's birthday.  So, I found a frame (I got mine at Walmart for $3.00) and found the paper at Office Depot.  It as about $40.00 for 20 sheets.  I prefer a matte finish but all they had was glossy.  You need paper that is at least 14" long because the finished size of the photo  will be 12 1/2 x 5.  The pack I found was 11x17 so I can get two name frames out of each sheet of paper.  I just used my home paper cutter and cut 4.75" off the paper first.  Then cut my width to the 4.75.  Be sure to measure your paper to make it match your frame if it is not the same size as this.  So with the frame for $3 and the paper comes to $1 you will have a TOTAL of $4 in this darling, unique gift!  I hope yall are as excited as I am!  I did not put my signature "little message" underneath the name because I thought it would limit you on what you can do with this!  But, feel free to add something if you want to, like at date or what ever.  I personally like it plain and simple.   So below is my finished, framed "Photo Name" ready for me to wrap up for his birthday.  I did try printing it with a black background also, and I personally did not like it at all.  The white background shows off the photos much better.  When you are choosing your photo's, you will have to play around with resizing them to get them to fit into the letter shape.  Try to enlarge some to show close ups of faces and eyes, or zoom out a little to make their bodies fit in a letter.  You will have to crop off some of the pictures once you get them in the letters where you want them, so they don't overlap the letter next to it.  Just experiment with different photos.  Black and White photos would look so good too!  In my daughters we mixed in 2 B&W photos.   I have had several comments about personalized names, I can not see me doing them unless I was paid something for my time.  And I don't know how that would work out.  I have not considered getting paid for anything but, it would be time consuming and I just don't think I could do it unless I was paid something.  If you have some thoughts on this, let me know.   But for right now, I would have to say, I am not doing name requests at this time. I'm sorry :(       ****edited****    see above post

Nate_Name_Preview

So here is the first one i have for you.  I will be making many more for sure.  Please leave me some love if you like what I do.  After all, if I can spend the time to create these, put them on my blog, FOR FREE, surely a little pat on the back isn't too much to ask.  It goes a long way in motivating me to make more :)

Lets Honor our Grandparents with a Layout of Your Choice!

dsdgif

If you want to win a darling mouse pad with your layout of your grandparents, or this cute "open 24 hours"  DigiScrapDepot logo,  then go over to www.digiscrapdepot and upload a layout of your choice, about your grandparents or just a special grandparent,  in honor of Grandparents Day.   Be sure to put it in the Grandparents section so it will go on the front page.  The contest is open thru Sept. 31.  So, get those photos, if you don't have one already, or maybe you want to honor the memory of a loved one that has passed on, either way it is a great way to share a "legacy of love".  So get the photos out and then make a cute layout, and post it on Digi Scrap Depot!  Share your legacy of  love with others!

Where Has The Time Gone?

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

I can't believe that it has been so long since I posted about this woman.  And what a woman she is.  I put these two together because not only did this woman make garments for others, and sold them to merchants, no less.  She also clothed herself!  But, with strength and dignity.  I am sorry to sound like a broken record, but she made the garments after she had faithfully fulfilled all her other duties as a wife.    Hint, Hint.  So again we see that this woman was organized.  She knew how to set priorities for herself and follow them.  And then, she worked on her other projects.  Oh gosh... I think I just want to quit right here!  Ha Ha.  I am feeling a little convicted as I type.  To be a Godly woman, able to work with other merchants in a Christ like manner.  Integrity comes to mind.  Trustworthy, those merchants would not want to buy from someone who did shabby work.  What kind of work do you do for others?  You know, I have tried to do my best, even though I am giving away my designs, to do them.... as unto the Lord.  To the best of my ability.  Now, I need to let that idea overflow to other areas of my life.  Are there areas of your life that you could work on?  Now the fact that she was clothed with strength and dignity.  She radiated these qualities.  I know some people in my life that just radiate, Christ.  When I  am around them, they want to know what He is doing in my life, they share what He has done in theirs.  It is an overflow of who they are.  They are "covered" with His strength and dignity.  But the best part is the last 8 words of this passage.  You know why?  Because of the fact that she could laugh at the days to come!  Who knows what we are going to face tomorrow?   What kind of testing and trials we may face.  God does.  And this woman had already settled it with Him that no matter what, she was going to be able to face it with joy!  Now that is comforting.  Right ?  So lets settle it right now for us, that no matter what we are facing, or will face that we will do it with joy, being able to laugh at the days to come.  His, Teri

Who Am I?

WhoAmI_web Preview

This is the second layout using Utski's One Fine Day kit. It can be found at www.myscrapshop.com.  I really wanted to do something different for me and I saw somewhere that a new CT created a layout telling a little more about themselves. I thought that was a great idea so here is my layout I call "Who Am I?" It is my first layout about me and I found that a challenge. Journaling about myself! But I loved the challenge and I loved the colors of this kit! Thanks Utski for such a cute, creative kit.

Cute as A Bug QP

 Preview MSS_OFD_CuteAsABug_web

This is my first layout for My Scrap Shop as a CT designer.  I loved the colors of this kit.  It is One Fine Day by Utski Scraps and can be found at the store at My Scrap Shop.  Utski was so nice to let me use this layout as a QP for you, my blog friends!  Be sure to check it out.  I love the contrast of the black and white photo with just a hint of color.  Did you notice the precious little bug hidden in the flowers?  Explore with hiding little "goodies" in your layouts to make them a little more interesting.  Blessings and Grace for today, Teri

Legacies of Love and a huge Thank-you

Preview LegaciesOfLove_Gramps

In honor of our Grandparents, Great-Grandparents and even Great-Great Grandparents here is a overlay to show how much they mean to us! I am blessed to still have my Grand-Father alive and with my grandson, we now have 5 generations. Gramps and Stella are two of the most out going and active "great-grandparents I know! They live in Texas for half a year then off to Maine for the other half. We love going to visit them in Maine and look forward to next month to do it again. This is my "little 4 wheeler" as my husband calls it, and they had to take a spin in it when they visited us last! Don't they look dapper? I wanted to make something to honor them, so here you go. Also, Vicky at DigiScrapDepot wanted to have a little mini contest! I guess she just couldn't stand not having some type of a challenge going on! So, make ANY layout and post it at www.digiscrapdepot and you may win a mousepad with that layout on it! Isn't that a great way to keep their memories alive! So, it doesn't have to be this layout, any layout you want, tell a little about your grandparents, living or not, and lets see what kind of legacies they are leaving! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Now for my thank-you, to Shannon at http://scrappyshannon.blogspot.com/. She made over my banner for my layouts! Isn't this black and white darling? I love it! Hugs girl, thanx agiain!

Backyard Summer QP's by Creations by Rachael

Preview BS_PS_BS1_Let-Everything_we

Are these not the cutest colors? I love the color combination that Rachael used on this darling kit! And the versatility of the colors makes it so easy to put together a darling layout. Be sure to go to Pretty Scrappy and look at the complete kit, remember its called "Backyard Summer". I know the green dots are pretty wild, but I just loved the way it turned out! Be willing to move outside your comfort zone when you are creating! You will be surprised what you can come up with! Use elements, papers and arrange in a way that you never have tried before. I actually created the polka dot one and then put a solid green background with it. It was darling, "status quo" but it wasn't as unique as this one! That's the beauty of digi-scrapping right? We can play outside "our box", but "our box" is just a click away! Enjoy and leave me some love! Teri
