Making a Journal Book Cover

Ok so, in order to get my priorities straight, I need to make sure I take pay attention at Church so, I made me a journal notebook with my priorities overlay and wanted to share how I did it with you guys… So here is the photo of the notebook that I used and the finished project.  Maybe you can get some inspiration from this idea.

Here is the journal I made…

And here is what the composition notebook looks like before and after!  I simply printed the front cover 9.75 x 6.75 and then I used modge podge to adhere it to the notebook.  I then filed the edges to make them match after it had completely dried.  I also printed a back cover to match the front.  Just used the black and white paper.  Total time to make this project was about 30 min. from start to finish!  So what are you waiting for?  His, Teri

This is my first attempt at a hybrid card.  I used Arts and Scraps Freaky Frankie kit.  Click on the Freakie Frankie and Friends preview to go to her store on on the hybrid layout for my download.  I thought this  was a cute way to show off your little ones costume to friends and family.  And a I thought this was a great colorful kit too.  I hope some of you can use it.  I did make it and it was real easy to follow the few instructions that come with it.  Enjoy!  Teri

A Couple of Little Goodies for You In My Bag of Treats!

Preview

Since I have been working hard at "topping off my blog" I wanted to give you something to top off your goodies too! Aren't these the cutest things? You can use this for your Halloween Party favors to top off a Sandwich bag! So fill up a snack sized baggies or a full sized sandwich bag and then print these "toppers" and cut and fold and staple them to the baggies. The finished size is 4 x 4 so you can fit 2 on a page. I have them in separate files so if you have a preference, just use that one. These are from Arts and Scraps and they are my first layouts using Karyls darling kits "Freaky Frankie" and "Fall Harvest". They can be found at http://www.artandscraps.com/store/Default.asp. Be sure to check out all her great kits. Just remember, as always, these are for personal use only. Have a great weekend! His, Teri

You Up For Another Challenge? I Digi-Dare You!

Ok, now that we have the July challenge over...Lets get ready to Tumble again! I was Soooo excited over the July challenge and so pleased with the number of downloads, 603 as of this morning! WOW that's so awesome! A big thank you to all who downloaded it and an even BIGGER thank you to all who entered the challenge. So my digi-dare is this, enter the challenge at http://www.digiscrapdepot.com/ ! Its fun and Vicky, the Administrator over at DigiScrapDepot has graciously lowered the cost to just $1 to enter! Well it will actually be $1.34, $1 goes to DSD and the other is for the paypal charge. So for just $1.34 you can join the fun. Because of all the interest in the overlays that I have been doing and that seem to be so popular now, that is the basis for the August Template. And because it is summer time and many are going on Vacations (as we call them) and I know that others say Holiday...(some say tomatoes, some say tomato's)...now you can "Pick-A-Template" Its your choice, you choose which template to use, either the vacation one, or the holiday one. Make sure you add whatever elements, doodles, etc. Then you go grab your favorite pics and create your template. Now all you have to do is just "pop" the new template into your Starbucks Tumbler. Isn't that a great way to keep those vacation (holiday) memories alive? I love the idea that you can choose which one you want to use. So, get busy and download the templates, and get ready to tumble! His, Teri
*edited the vacation template 8/11/08 I had left some of my pics on the template, sorry about that! If you already downloaded, the template is the same, so no need to download it again.

This will only be available to those who enter and post thier layout in the gallery! I can't wait to see what you gals have come up with! Now, be an Angel and get movin' When I made this overlay, I was reminded of a wall hanging I have in my house that says "My wife is a angel, she is always up in the air harping on something!" Oh my! or Oh me? LOL

"Hybrid Project Reveal" 8.5 x 11 Template #1

I wanted to show you one of the first things I made when I started digi-scrapping! I wanted to use the word art that I had created and I also needed a prayer journal for our new Bible Study at our church. Well, I scraplifted a design from Shabby Princess "Shabby Mommy' kit and used this basic template I made and added the word art to the larger grey area. I measured the cover of a notebook and made my template that size. To make the edges blend better, after I trimmed it the best I could, I actually used a nail file to smooth the edges. I looked for a notebook that did not have a spiral binding so I could just glue it to the cover. I then cut a strip of paper from a paper sack, of all things, to glue over the binding. I am not sure I needed to do that but I wanted it to kinda look shabby chic....so then I used a foam brush and put 2 coats of modge podge over the papers to "varnish" the outside. Voila! Finished... I am sharing the template today and hope to see what you make with it. Blessings, Teri
