I'm Not Scared!

I have been fretting the last few days, as you well know, with the storm Ike threatening to come ashore close to us.  Well it looks like we were spared, but please continue your prayers for those that are going to be hit by this hurricane.  I couldn't help but think of the title..I'm not scared" but I did have a few restless nights.  I have been working with a kit by Jessica Edwards at Digital Paper Hearts named "Trick or Treat".  It is a cute kit and very versatile.  I made these two layouts and she has agreed to let me put them on my blog as freebies.  Please go over to http://www.digitalpaperhearts.com/ to see her things.  Be sure to leave a nice comment thanking her for letting me offer these freebies!

This QP1 is available with and without the hanging bats.  I called these layouts "Boo Spooky Boo".  I love how these layouts turned out.  The only Halloween picture I had was this one of my little grandson when he was 2.  The second QP2  "Boo Who?" really shows off the festive colors of Jessica's kit.  I hope you can find some "Spooky Boo's" out there to put in these freebies!  Take care!  His, Teri

Woof! Woof! And "Top Ten Reasons" Hurricane Season is Like Christmas

 Woof_preview Woof_Hitch

I told you to be on the lookout for Meow's buddy Woof!  And I won't disappoint!  HeHe...I used an overlay on the one of my awesome dog, Hitch.  And I changed the bevels, but on the overlay for download it is the basic one that I have always done.   I was able to mess a little on my computer today.  It looks like that Ike will go north of us, but I can't imagine the headaches around the Houston, Galveston area.  Pray for them.  I am hoping to work on a few more goodies this weekend if we are able to keep our electricity.  I am ( I was gonna say "pooped" but changed my mind!  LOL) tired tonight so, it wont be a long post.  But for those who might be effected by Ike, I leave you with this email I got and found it to be humorous.

Top Ten Reasons Hurricane Season is Like Christmas

10. Decorating the house (boarding up windows).
9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season (camping
gear, flashlights).
8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores.
7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".
6. Family coming to stay with you.
5. Family and friends from out-of-state calling.
4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities.
3. Days off from work.
2. Candles.and . . . .
1. And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas . . ....
At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house!

EEK! IKE!

Well we are about 30 miles from where they are predicting Hurricane Ike to hit on the gulf coast. We are in the process of boarding up, gathering water, food and flashlights.  Please pray for us and for all of those that are in the path of this Category 3 hurricane.  The last cat 3 hurricane to hit here was Celia, back in the 70's and it devastated many areas!  We should be safe here, our house was built to withstand this type of weather ( it is my husbands, grandmothers house)  It is cement, and I feel safe staying here.  We just have a lot farm equipment and all that we can not go off a leave.  Unfortunately, looters take there toll, as i am sure you have seen after Katrina.  So, keep us in your prayers, and pray that we don't loose our electricity for too long!  I will try to keep you guys updated, maybe even post a freebie or two to keep me busy till it hits!  But right now, we have to prepare.  His, Teri

*** Update***  they are saying that Ike should go in somewhere to the north of us now, as a Category 4 which is a HUGE hurricane.  Although I am happy we may be spared the brunt of the storm, we are by no means out of danger, but we need to pray for those who will be in the hardest hit areas, no matter where Ike comes ashore.  We are almost finished boarding up ( we have like 66 windows! ) and have been to the store and have all of our things necessary for loss of electricity.   But its dark and kinda errie!  I will keep you posted on the latest news.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

So here is a little something for you to enjoy in the mean time!   Just click on the preview!  Keep your eyes out for the "woof"  its coming!

Legacies of Love and a huge Thank-you

Preview LegaciesOfLove_Gramps

In honor of our Grandparents, Great-Grandparents and even Great-Great Grandparents here is a overlay to show how much they mean to us! I am blessed to still have my Grand-Father alive and with my grandson, we now have 5 generations. Gramps and Stella are two of the most out going and active "great-grandparents I know! They live in Texas for half a year then off to Maine for the other half. We love going to visit them in Maine and look forward to next month to do it again. This is my "little 4 wheeler" as my husband calls it, and they had to take a spin in it when they visited us last! Don't they look dapper? I wanted to make something to honor them, so here you go. Also, Vicky at DigiScrapDepot wanted to have a little mini contest! I guess she just couldn't stand not having some type of a challenge going on! So, make ANY layout and post it at www.digiscrapdepot and you may win a mousepad with that layout on it! Isn't that a great way to keep their memories alive! So, it doesn't have to be this layout, any layout you want, tell a little about your grandparents, living or not, and lets see what kind of legacies they are leaving! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Now for my thank-you, to Shannon at http://scrappyshannon.blogspot.com/. She made over my banner for my layouts! Isn't this black and white darling? I love it! Hugs girl, thanx agiain!

"Gimme S'more" I Don't Want Summer to End!

My family loves the outdoors! Now my idea of camping has changed over the years, from a tent to a fully furnished home....but the concept is the same for me! Family and friends, hanging out, making memories that will last a life time. Late night talks with my daughter, ton's of laughter, swimming, floatin' the Frio, watermelon, homemade ice-cream, star-gazing, horse-shoes, family reunions, hummingbirds, card games, jeep rides, blown diets, late nights, late mornings, oh and a new tradition, press on tatoo's (for my grandson, but we all get them!) total relaxation! Oh, please, gimme s'more! Enjoy your last little bit of summer! Have a great Holiday weekend!

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends...

I told y'all I wanted to make another overlay with the text wrap and voila! I saw the perfect little saying today when I got my hair done. I love it! And it is so true. If you can't read what the text says, I will show you. "Friendship is not about the big things, it is about the million little things" Isn't that so true? I am blessed with some great friends that no matter how often we are together, maybe we have never even met face to face ( you know who you are , right"? ) but for some reason, you know the Lord put you together for a reason. And you are immediately good friends. Well this is for all my girlfriends, near and far. I love you all.....Teri

The Lake

Here is a new one to go along with all of our summer fun! I am working on several "The" overlays. Leave me your ideas, I may use them! I would love to do another quote around one like I did on the "Priorities" one, if anybody has any suggestions on what would be a good one to do. Short post today! Got lots to do! Enjoy! His, Teri

Its about Time.......the Virtuous Woman and her family

So, on with Proverbs.... verse 14 "She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar." I didnt post yesterday, had a real busy day and so it gave me more time to think about this verse. My wonderful grandfather, who I worship, was a chief engineer of those hugh ships that go all over the world. Well, I have heard him tell stories about some of his trips and it was not always "smooth sailin' " so to speak. So I thought about that, and how, it relates for me, to this scripture. It is not always easy, planning, preparing, and fixing meals for our family. Then, there is cleaning, and picking up...well you got the idea, right? So, like this scripture says, bringing food from afar....well that tell you right there, that it is not neccessaryly going to be easy. She had to go far to get her food, and like those merchant ships, had to endure all that life threw at her. Well so do we. I need so much to plan my meals better, it is so improtant in our fast paced lives to make sure we have some family time. And what better place than the dinner table. (I forgot we had a dinner table.....lol) And for me, now that for the most part, it is just the two of us, well thats even harder. I dont want to cook for the two of us! But I am going to strive to, at least make our meal times more special. No matter what this ship has to face. After all, family really is a matter of time....enjoy! And speaking of family, I am going to be with mine this weekend so if I don't get around to postin' you will understand, right? Blessings and Grace for today! His, Teri

Another Star is Born

As promised, this is the pink "Star is Born" overlay. I loved how the layout turned out. I printed this one of my granddaughter and put a black border around the outside of the layout slightly inside of the edge of the layout and It really helped to "pop" the sparkle " in her eyes! Enjoy! His, Teri

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star "Boy"

I haven't forgotten all the Little Boy's out there just because I just had a beautiful Granddaughter a week ago ! I saw a layout with a little star and moon hanging from it and thought, I need to hang a star on one of my overlays! So this is what i came up with. I hope y'all are not tired of them yet! I have many ideas on more that I would like to do. I am going to do my best to start praying for my grand kids mates out there. You say, they are only 4 and 1 week old. Well there may very well be a prince or princess out there right now that will one day be in my family. Its never too early to begin to seek the Lords will for our kids, and for me, even my grand kids. If you need a pink star.....are you kidding me, you think I wouldn't do one? Check back.....for a little twinkle, twinkle in pink!

Priorities...Let's Get Them Straight, Okay?

Well as we look at the Proverbs 31 woman, it is going to become apparent that it is about priorities. Where we put them, what we allow to come into our lives, take our time, and what we do with our time. I had two sweet "Sisters in the Lord" email me about this overlay idea. I loved the idea of the quote. Wasn't sure how to implement it in this layout, but it all came together. So as a gentle reminder of us trying to get our priorities straight, here is a new layout. A visible reminder of what is really important! Being important in our childrens lives and in the lives of others. See I do listen to your suggestions! Thank you who ever you are! Have a great day in the Lord.....His, Teri

Here is the edited .png file if you need this in the png format, sorry for the error!

For those who have both a Princess and a Prince

I thought that it would be nice for all of you who have both a Prince and a Princess to be able to use these side by side. So, I switched the crown on the Prince to the right side. You can still download the original layout, you just have the choice of which one you want to use, maybe you have 2 Princes in your life!

Every little Princess needs a Prince Charming

Ok, I had to make this for all the Prince Charmings out there! The Princess overlay has been so popular i figured there had to be a need for a Prince too! I was thinking that it might be good to do this with the crown on the opposite side, so if you wanted to do a layout with both, they would kinda match. What do yall think? I will do it if I get 10 comments...today saying you want it the other way too! I hope you enjoy, got lots to do today, so not much info on the post. Have a great weekend! Grace for today.... His, Teri
Bet you are wondering where the link is? Well I got a little smarter today and now, all you have to do is click on the preview to get the link! Is this better? "Be Patient, be patient, don't be in such a hurry"

OK now here is another piece of fruit that is hard for me to swallow sometimes. I want it and I want it now, is more my style. But, I know that this fruit is one, that if we can achieve it, is wonderful. Wouldn't it be nice to have more patience with your loved ones? I know for me it would be. Not only being more patient with others, but showing patience when waiting on the Lord. Again, I want it ( answers to prayers ) and I want them now! But, we know that love is patient. He (God) was patiently waiting for me to come to him, and I am forever grateful. I love the scripture from I Corinthians 13:4, that tell us that "Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant." This was one of the scriptures that was read at my mom's funeral. She was an example of this scripture. I have to tell you a funny, but true story. When I think of this, I remember something my husband has said about me. He would say, when we married, he hoped that I would be like my mom, BUT I am more like my dad! Let's just say, I am not always as patient and kind as I should, and could be. Again, I am working on it! He still loves me though. So as I patiently wait for tommorow, I will try to be more like you, mom. You gals will have an opportuinity to show some patience with me because you will have to wait a day or two for the rest of the fruits! Remember, practice makes perfect. So practice some patience today. Enjoy!

Here is your Patience:

A little Princess is on her way!

I made this for my 1st granddaughter who will be arriving in the morning! Since I couldnt use her picture for the preview, I looked for the next in line for the crown, and that would be my 10 year old yorkie, Brighton. She wear's it well, don't you think? I will do a few more with the "diva" theme. Keep checking back to see what I have in my bag of goodies! I also want to thank each of you for your encouraging words. It really means a lot to me to hear how you are going to use some of my things. And to know that you are enjoying them is such a blessing to me. I will continue to do the word overlays in .png unless stated. So for the most part, you png'ers will get them also. Gonna be busy around here for the next few days so if I dont post as often you will understand why, right? Hugging and Kissing that sweet grand-baby! Grace and Blessing to you all.....Teri

How about a little Love today?

" What the world needs now, is love, sweet love....." remember? Well it really is true. It is a fruit of the Spirit we all need more of. If we (I) could love others like Christ himself loves others, our homes would be far better off than they are today. Like I said a few days ago, yall are just getting to eavesdrop remember, so I am not pretending to "have arrived". Far from it. I am selfish, more than I want to admit, and don't always think of others before me. But, like I also mentioned, I am striving to grow. That is the key, desire plus action. Like exercising, it is not something we like to do, but it is a good thing to do. Do you have a friend, neighbor, boss, employee or child that needs to experience God's love? I bet you do. Today, try to see them as Christ sees them, and let Him, love Them, through You. Now, don't worry if you can't do this, because neither can I. Thats why we are gonna let Him do it! 2 MORE DAYS UNTIL MY GRANDAUGHTER ARRIVES! SO THAT MEANS A SPECAIL FREEBIE TOMMOROW!!!! Lot's of Love today, Teri

Get over here and get some Love:
