As I scurried around the kitchen yesterday, busy with my Holiday preparations, I remembered a tip as I was working. I had gotten out my aluminum foil to wrap up a few of my casseroles. Aluminum Foil? That's what You are gonna talk about this morning on THANKSGIVING? Yep! I am! I wonder how many of you know this...on the ends of your aluminum foil boxes, even saran wrap too, there are little push in tabs. (What in the world is Teri talkin about today?) Go get your box of foil and look on the ends. See them? Did you know that they are there for you to push in, so that your foil will not come tumbling out of the box!!! Now, I am 52 years old and did not know this until about 4 months ago.... Try it! It works! Ok, so what does this have to do with Thanksgiving? I was thinking about this yesterday as I was cooking, and the thought occurred to me. How many times we don't see God's blessings, see the things HE is doing in our lives, even though they are right there "in our hands" (like the foil). There is no telling how long those little tabs have been in those boxes, this is not something new, I know that, and yet, I never saw them before! They were put there to help make using foil easier, to keep it safely in the box, so that it wont get torn or ripped, and yet, I never used it! Now, are you seeing? It's like that with GOD too! He is there, has been all along. He is working in my life, even when I don't see it! And he is working in yours too. So, I hope you never look at a box of foil again without thinking about me, and this Thanksgiving post, reminding you of all of Gods Blessings. Psalms 100 is a Psalm for giving thanks...Here it is for you to enjoy.."Shout for Joy to the Lord , all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He that hath made us, and we are his; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with THANKSGIVING and into HIS courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good; and his love endures forever, his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalms 100 His, Teri
I have you beat - I am 70 years old and never knew this little tip. So off I went downstairs to check my boxes. Only 1 in 3 had the tabs. One brand of saran wrap had the tabs but the other well known one didn't, nor did the aluminum foil (well known brand) have them.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow I pushed the tabs in on the one that did! Neat little tip and wish all the boxes had them as mine are always falling out.
Thanks for the tip - and I hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving.
ill remember the blessings. thanks for the tip!

Teri-you crack me up. I have seen this tip around more then usual in the last year. And every time I read it I just laugh...I thought everyone knew those things were there-we have always used them (can't remember not using them?!?) so every time I see the tip I have to chuckle a bit. Thanks for sharing with those that don't know (which is apparently quite a few people!)
